Horsing Around

Work and the horses have totally taken over my life, and I love it. I'm so busy that the days are flying by and the harder I work I feel like there is even more work to do. But, I love it. I have never been so completely satisfied, fulfilled and happy in a job ever in my life. I'm thriving. I feel useful, needed and worthwhile. I love my little students, I am in love with our horses and I love the people I work with.

Madie and I love riding together. I was hoping Sky would be "my horse" but after seeing him and Madie go together, I couldn't deny the match. Sky will be Madie's project horse for the next 3 years. Makoto has been going really nicely for me lately. He is very talented and a lot of fun to ride. He and I seem to be working very well together.

Now, this horse, Woods, has totally stolen my heart. He is the sweetest horse and I haven't even ridden him yet, but already I feel like we have a special bond. I've been working on putting a couple hundred pounds on him and getting him back to being healthy. He gets lots of extra little meals, lots of pasture time, grooming and bath time which he loves. This was his first official day back to work. I'm going to lunge him a few times a week for a half hour and get his muscles working a bit. He has been off for quite a while. I hope he will be "my horse" while we're here. I sure do love him lots already!

It makes me happy to see you living your dream, riding horses all day long and finding your happiness. If anyone deserves to find that kind of fulfillment, it's you. So proud of you!

That last picture of Woods could be a Breyer's model horse. Actually, all of them could. Know I've said it before, but you have a genuine talent for capturing these beauties.

So happy that you and Mihara found each other, my dear!
