Yoga-hiking

My wonderful parent's babysat Paxton so I could go frolic through the woods with my friend.  I met her up on the MD side of Great Falls.  I had only been to the VA side before, and I was so amazed I had been missing out on this incredible area.  It was just amazing.
Geese and their babies swimming in the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal.  There is this flat, wide path that goes along this canal that would be perfect for stroller running or for people not interested in actual hiking.  I just envisioned how glorious my marathon training could be here!

We set off on the Billy Goat Trail along the Potomac.

This hike was so incredibly good for my mind, body and spirit.  I can't even explain how much being out in nature like this is just a balm for my soul.

We would hike a little bit, and then yoga a little bit!! It was so much fun.

The llama visit

I love llamas.  There is something about these freaking adorable and weird looking animals that makes me squee with glee. When my friend told me about a farm near my parents house with animals including a LLAMA I couldn't wait to go.  It's always amazing to me that 30 minutes from my parents house you can be in the bustling city and then 30 minutes the other direction and you are in the country.
We met up with my friend and her 2 kiddos at Cox Farms and this place was so cute and so much fun. They had all these adorable playground areas shaped like boats, trains and the like. There was even a tractor to climb on.
Babies and adorable animals might be my most favorite thing on the planet.

And there he is.  In all his majestic glory.
This llama wasn't friendly, did not like attention and would turn his butt to you.  But if you ignored him he would come near.
Me (and my massive arm. WHAT THE?!), Pax and that stinkin' cute llama.
Paxton loved feeding the goats!

I love these sweet babies.  When my friend and I were in college, doing beer bongs and other college mandatory activities I'm sure this day was not on our minds and 30 seemed really impossibly far away.  But, it's like college was over in the blink of an eye and now these tiny humans are here walking around and saying things.  Totally blows my mind.  Time, slow down please!

Strawberry Picking

This afternoon we joined a couple friends up in Milton at Blue Basket Farms for strawberry picking!
The field was full of beautiful, ripe berries and we had no problem filling up our buckets.  Paxton amazingly (mostly) understood to only pick the red berries and would even pick them and then put them in the bucket.  But, once I gave him the ok to eat one all bets were off.  I think every single berry he picked went straight into his mouth.  He probably ate a pound of berries, dirt and probably a few stems.  He was covered in dirt, juice and strawberry bits! We loved this place and we can't wait to go back for blueberry picking at the end of the month.  Now I have to figure out what to make with the over 4 pounds of strawberries I came home with.

I love Eric with the strawberry sticking out of his mouth!

Sharing a berry with his buddy.
