Sydney Sights

While in Sydney we went around seeing most all of the major sights and even got out of the city a bit to see the sights in the Blue Mountains.

We got our fill of views of Sydney, especially the Opera House and the harbor, and I think Brad may have started threatening for divorce if I made him pose for the hundredth photo with the opera house and bridge in the back ground (joking, he is very patient with me!). Here are some of my favorites from various view points.

Something I strongly suggest is a harbor Cruise. We did a harbor lunch cruise on the Majestic out of King Street Wharf. It was a beautiful warm, sunny day and we soaked up the sunshine and the sights after lunch.
Some pretty ones of the Queen Victoria Building:

On Christmas Eve we made a visit to St. Mary's Cathedral, a beautiful and impressive church in the heart of the city. I couldn't take pictures inside, although I really wanted to. Later that night when we were walking home from having Christmas Eve drinks out with new friends we met on the trip and seeing fireworks over the harbor we saw a very impressive and intricate light show on the front of the cathedral. Ever couple minutes the projection would change and it was spectacular!

Getting out of the city for a day was wonderful and something I suggest as well. The Blue Mountains were vast, breathtaking and seemed endless. We went to Echo Point and posed with the Three Sisters rocks and went over to Scenic World where we rode the railway down into the rain forest, walked around under the massive rain forest trees and ferns and then took the cableway back up the mountain.

Stay tuned next for Sydney beaches!
